With thanks, Ian and the team.
We came here for lunch after checking in to our hotel. Quick 5 minute walk. The menu is a cool newspaper kind of thing with pictures. The prices are more than reasonable and the portions were prefect. We are definitely going back. There are several dishes I want to try. The beer was perfect and went so well with my kielbasa sandwich. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended if you are in London for a visit.
Good food, good service and location.
Found the place kind of by the accident looking for somewhere to eat near by Imperial War museum. To my surprise it's just by Leak Street Graffiti tunnel which is additional bonus.
Food was delicious, excellent service and I'm pretty sure Mamuska is also good place for the few drinks. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Ps. Already did 👍

Food was amazing! Also Nikoles service was brilliant. Will definitely comeback and recommend! 🙂
Tucked beneath the railway arches of Waterloo, Mamuśka! Polish Kitchen and Bar is more than a restaurant—it’s a celebration of Polish culinary tradition served with generous portions, unapologetic flavour, and a touch of nostalgia. With its rustic wood interiors, long communal tables, and bold branding, it strikes a careful balance between contemporary casual dining and the homeliness of a Warsaw family kitchen.
Starters: Classic Comfort with Precision
The meal began with a Polish staple: sałatka jarzynowa, a vegetable salad so deeply embedded in Polish culinary culture that it’s served at nearly every family gathering. Mamuśka!’s version is unapologetically traditional—soft, cubed carrots, peas, potatoes, and pickles folded into a creamy mayonnaise-based dressing with subtle seasoning. It arrives chilled in a small bowl, accompanied by thick slices of soft white bread generously spread with butter. While visually modest, the flavour delivers comfort in every bite. The sharpness of the gherkins cuts through the richness just enough to keep it balanced. It’s humble, hearty, and executed with quiet confidence.
Dessert: A Sweet Finish with Polish Flair
For dessert, the nalesniki—thin Polish-style crepes—were filled and folded, then lavishly drizzled with dark chocolate sauce and dusted with powdered sugar. The texture was excellent: soft, with slightly crisp edges, offering a delicate contrast to the rich chocolate. The portion size was generous, easily shareable, yet not overwhelming. This is the kind of dessert that reminds you why crepes remain a timeless comfort dish in many Central and Eastern European homes.
Atmosphere & Service: Casual Yet Intentionally Polish
Mamuśka! sets the tone with its casual but distinctly Polish atmosphere—Polish newspapers on the tables, metal cutlery buckets, and industrial-style décor. It doesn’t try to be fancy, nor should it. This is a place where the food does the talking. Service is quick and friendly, with staff that are welcoming and speak both English and Polish—a nod to the restaurant’s commitment to staying authentic while being inclusive to its diverse London clientele.
Verdict:
Mamuśka! isn’t chasing trends. Instead, it offers something increasingly rare in London’s fast-paced dining scene: real food, made with heart, rooted in culture. It’s a place where you could take your Polish grandmother and your British friends, and both would leave equally satisfied. Whether you’re craving a taste of home or discovering Polish cuisine for the first time, Mamuśka! delivers a grounded, flavorful experience worth returning for

Really cool place under the railway arches by Waterloo Station. Great Polish food and vodka. Excellent, friendly service in English or Polish.

Paul B2024-12-03Verified Real Polish Food Having been to Krakow a few times I came across this place by chance as I would be in Waterloo, it did look a bit quiet when I first went in but soon started to get busier. The staff were very polite and the food was served up very quickly, I started with the Sausage Soup, boiled Pierogi and then the Chicken for mains, not to forget the overwhelming cream cake at the end. The staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for you, the food was very hot and filling, perfect for a wet Sunday evening in London. Would give this restaurant 10/10 and really cannot wait to go back, 2 mins from Waterloo Station. David Gadd2024-11-15Verified A Taste of Poland. A great place, wonderful food, awesome atmosphere and great staff. You feel like you are in Poland, come along and experience it. Howard B2024-11-15Verified Great night Great night. Well worth finding. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. The vodka creeps up on you, be wary, or at least book and easy next day. Thomas P2024-10-14Verified Polish cuisine in London Very good Polish cuisine, especially the pierogen (dough bags) are a dream. There are many variations. Salads like Mom and Polish beer and lots of liquor variations. In the evening best to reserve Sandy P2024-09-14Verified Polish vodka Found this by chance walking by and since I’m half polish had to stop in! We had just ate but got a few drinks served by the lovely, sweet LaLa! Hope to try their food some day Cosmin C2024-09-12Verified Nice pub Nice place to hang out with friends and good service I have waited to go to this place for years, its longevity made me think that it must be worthwhile. However were the mains not only average. The pierogis were vile. The beef and pork looked and smelt like tinned tuna. I was so afraid I threw it up in the toilet. The staff were really sweet, I didn't give them a chance to rectify it but I wouldn't go again. The venue looks cool and you can feel the train shake you. Im sober but would be good for getting drunk. Alexandra A2024-09-12Verified Lala was great. Good service and looking after our table with care. Very welcoming.
